Lab Safety   The goal of the Laboratory Safety Certification Course is to improve your safety awareness and increase your knowledge of relevant safety regulations, practices and procedures that directly impact high school science teachers. The emphasis throughout the course is on best practices as the presenters offer you simple, practical, and effective solutions to solve your laboratory safety problems. Teachers must register and complete the Flinn Course (http://labsafety.flinnsci.com/Home.aspx) appropriate for their grade/course instruction (Middle School Safety Course, High School Safety Course) and submit certificate of completion to Science Instructional Services for credit and record keeping purposes. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) revised the Hazard Communication Standard to align it with the United Nations Globally Harmonized System (GHS) for the classification and identification of chemical hazards. Middle and High School Science teachers are also required to complete GHS Certification Training also provided by Flinn Scientific. Upon completion, the GHS certificate should also be submitted to Science Instructional Services for credit and record keeping purposes.
